Endives are so productive from August through to October.

Because they flower if sown in the spring, wait until summer solstice or late June before sowing any. They will reward you with beautiful and healthy, green leaves, all the way through autumn.

Endive is stronger in the autumn and winter than lettuce. Lettuce is inclined in the autumn especially to get mildew, while endives just keep going. They don't go mildewy, unlike lettuce, and crop really well from late summer through autumn, even into November and December in mild conditions.

You can find many more details in my endive growing guide: charlesdowding.co.uk/a/members/3f7a3618-dcab-45ad-a9c9-a5a496e4282d/b517fa64-a2a8-4179-8823-ef96fc29f048?shop_sign_in=true
