How to Get to Valgard: Realm of the Vikings at Paultons Park on opening day! Arrive at the park, stop for an obligatory photo at the Paultons Park entrance sign, make your way through the crowds and RUN towards Valgard, the brand new Viking-themed land featuring Drakon, Raven, Vild Swing, The Orchard Playground and the Nordic Feasting Hall.

Valgard: Realm of the Vikings officially opened at Paultons Park on 16th May 2026, bringing a major new Viking-themed land to the park with roller coasters, family attractions, themed dining, Nordic-inspired scenery and some of the most significant new rides in Paultons Park history.

Arriving at Paultons Park for Valgard starts at the main entrance, where the Paultons Park sign is a popular photo stop before guests make their way through the busy entrance area and head towards the new Viking land. Valgard sits next to Lost Kingdom and near Sky Swinger, making it one of the key areas guests will look for when entering the park during the 2026 season.

At the heart of Valgard is Drakon, Paultons Park’s first ever inverting roller coaster and the headline thrill attraction of the land. Manufactured by Gerstlauer, Drakon is a custom Euro-Fighter featuring a vertical lift hill, a beyond vertical first drop, fast turns and two inversions. It is the most intense roller coaster Paultons Park has ever built and brings a new level of thrill ride to the park.

Raven is the rethemed former Cobra roller coaster, transformed into a Viking-themed family thrill coaster. Originally opened as Cobra in 2006, this Gerstlauer bobsled coaster now operates as Raven, with new theming, a new identity and a stronger connection to the Valgard storyline. Raven delivers tight turns, drops, camelback hills and high-speed family coaster action without inversions.

Vild Swing is the UK’s first ART Engineering Wild Swing and one of the most unusual new flat rides at Paultons Park. Standing around 12 metres tall, Vild Swing uses a free-swinging gondola with 16 individual seats, eight on each side. The ride is powered by electric motors and delivers repeated swinging arcs, airtime and gravity-driven thrills without full rollovers.

The Orchard Playground adds a Viking-themed adventure play area to Valgard, with climbing structures, lookout towers, slides, net swings and themed details designed around exploration and adventure. The Orchard gives younger guests another major attraction within the land, making Valgard more than just a coaster area.

The Nordic Feasting Hall is Valgard’s main dining location, adding a large themed restaurant to Paultons Park. The Feasting Hall brings food, seating and Viking-themed interiors into the heart of the land, helping make Valgard a complete themed area with rides, play, food and atmosphere.

Valgard was built on land previously occupied by Dragon Roundabout and Magma, alongside previously open space. Magma was relocated to Crealy Theme Park as Pirates Plummet, while Dragon Roundabout was removed. Cobra was transformed into Raven as part of the Valgard project. The Go Karts were also removed for wider future development, although that area is separate from Valgard itself.

Paultons Park is located in Hampshire’s New Forest and is best known as the home of Peppa Pig World, the world’s first Peppa Pig-themed land, which opened in 2011 and remains one of the park’s most recognised areas.

Lost Kingdom sits beside Valgard and features dinosaur-themed attractions including Velociraptor, Flight of the Pterosaur, Dino Chase, Splash Lagoon, Boulder Dash and Dinosaur Tour Co. With Valgard now open next to Lost Kingdom, this side of Paultons Park has become an important area for roller coasters, themed rides and family attractions.

Tornado Springs is another major themed land at Paultons Park, featuring Storm Chaser, Cyclonator, Windmill Towers, Buffalo Falls, Farmyard Flyer, Rio Grande Train and Al’s Auto Academy. Critter Creek, the gardens, play areas and other family attractions add to the wider park experience.

Paultons Park continues to expand beyond Valgard, with its first on-site hotel and lodges under construction. A major new water ride is also planned for 2027 following its announcement at the Paultons Park Super Fan event.

Valgard: Realm of the Vikings brings Drakon, Raven, Vild Swing, The Orchard Playground and the Nordic Feasting Hall together in a new Viking-themed land, adding major new attractions to Paultons Park and giving guests a new destination to head for as soon as they arrive at the park.
