By using this strat you can finish Malon's obstacle course at any time you desire. The reward will only be granted if you haven't won it prior and get below 00"50".
Preparation required:
- steal Epona, place her at a place that's convenient to reach, e.g. in front of the ranch
- get a blank B button in order to use Unrestricted Items on the back of Epona (I savewarped in Water Temple while having a bottle on my B button but other methods might be more convenient; you can check them here: zeldaspeedruns.com/oot/ba/swordless-link)
- have Farore's Wind on a C-button
1) enter Lon Lon Ranch
2) talk to Malon twice from the back of Epona to start the race
3) use FW to set a special spawn point during the minigame (it's located behind the small shelter after roughly half a lap)
4) use FW again when you want to finish the obstacle course by returning to the previously set point
5) walk up close to Malon to trigger the end of the minigame and get your time locked in
This strat is useful for Cow in House (least A presses) or when looking up a video on how to beat Malon's obstacle course record makes you feel like a scrub.
