About this video: When it comes to Minecraft 26.2 mods, Forge is one of the most well know mod loaders you can use. It has access to a huge library of mods being one of the first Minecraft mod loaders released, and this is our complete guide on how to download and install Forge in Minecraft 26.2.
First things first, we need to download the Forge Installer for 26.2. There is a link in the description above that will take you to our complete text guide. On that page, click the "Download" button to be taken to the official Forge download page.
There, select the 26.2 version on the left-hand side. Then, click the "Download Installer" button. You will be taken to a page where a "Skip Ad" button will appear in the top right after a few seconds. Click that, and the Forge Installer will start downloading. You may need to keep or save the file depending on your browser.
With the installer downloaded, we can move on to how to install Forge for Minecraft 26.2. Open the installer file you downloaded. In the installer, make sure "Install Client" is selected, and click "Okay". Forge will then install. Keep in mind that Minecraft and the Minecraft Launcher need to be closed for this to work, and you will need to have launched Minecraft 26.2 at least once beforehand.
Once Forge has finished installing, open the Minecraft Launcher. Click the little arrow next to the "Play" button, and select your Forge 26.2 installation from the list. Click "Play", and Minecraft will open with Forge installed.
From here, you can start adding Forge mods to Minecraft 26.2. You can find mods on sites like CurseForge. Just make sure any mods you download are for the 26.2 version of Forge, as mods from other versions will not work, and be on the lookout for any dependency mods as this can stop your mods from working later.
To install your mods, go back to the Minecraft Launcher and hover over your Forge 26.2 installation. Click the folder icon that appears to open your .minecraft folder. Inside, you should see a mods folder. If not, go ahead and create one. From there, drag and drop any mods you want to use directly into that folder.
Now, just launch Minecraft using your Forge 26.2 installation. Minecraft will start with your mods.
