In this video, I show you how to create and customise a Woodturning Project being a beautiful potpourri bowl making it the perfect for a gift idea. I combined ash and maple wood to craft this unique piece, using my Harvey T60S wood lathe and carbide woodturning tools from Easy Wood Tools.
For the customisation, I used my 21-inch Axminster AP535SS scroll saw to add intricate details. The bowl's exterior is finished with Sunshine Yellow stains from the Hampshire Sheen Carnival Colour Range, Yorkshire Grit Microfine abrasive paste, and Hampshire Sheen finishing wax. The interior is treated with Yorkshire Grit abrasive paste and Hampshire Sheen finishing wax.
After turning, I sanded the piece to 400 grit and applied two coats of clear gloss lacquer from Hampshire Sheen for a stunning, professional finish. Watch to learn how to make this beautiful and personalized potpourri bowl that makes an ideal wedding gift!
