In this video, I turn a beautiful Ash wood bowl on the Harvey T60S wood lathe and give it a dramatic Tiger effect using a combination of scorching and vibrant stain. The contrast in the grain really pops after burning and sanding, and the rich Flame stain from the Hampshire Sheen Intrinsic Colour Range brings this piece to life.
🔨 Turning & Finishing Process:
Turned on the Harvey T60S lathe
Shaped with Easy Wood Tools carbide turning tools
Scorched the exterior to bring out the grain pattern
Sanded back to 240 grit using Klingspor abrasives
Applied Hampshire Sheen Flame stain for that bold tiger-striped look
Finished the inside of the bowl with Yorkshire Grit abrasive paste
Polished with Hampshire Sheen Gloss Finishing Wax
