A dirt spot on the lens or sensor of your FPV camera can be very annoying. Especially if the camera is something like a Runcam Split or Caddx Turtle, which also records HD footage of your flights, dirt spots may render your videos unusable.
Cleaning your FPV camera is a very easy task. The dirt inside it is usually dry and can be easily removed just by puffing air with an air blower.
Make sure that:
- Your camera / multirotor is powered off when removing the lens, otherwise the sensor may attract even more dirt.
- Work in a clean environment, preferably indoors.
Be careful not to scratch the camera lens and most importantly the sensor. If the air blower doesn't remove the dirt from the sensor, remove the casing of the camera, exhale on the sensor to "steam" it and gently remove the dirt off the sensor with a lens tissue / microfiber cloth. A good tissue/cloth will not damage the sensor but a dirt particle may scratch it as you wipe it off.
