This video shows you how to change the battery on a Toyota car remote. If your car remote doesn’t open your door anymore, most likely the battery is dead. The remote in this video is from a 2012 Toyota Prius, and many Toyotas are similar. To open the remote control and replace the battery, first remove the emergency key by pushing the button on the side of the remote control and pulling the key out. This will expose a slot where you can put a screwdriver to pry the remote control open. Once it’s open, you can locate the battery and replace it with a new one. Make sure you put the battery in with the words facing up. Then center, the remote motherboard in place, as it is loose on this remote control, and then snap the two sides back together and replace your emergency key, and you’re done.
