Have you ever drawn someone and ended up with a face that looks nothing like them?

Capturing likeness is often easier than it seems. At its core, it’s about arranging simple shapes in the right size and relationship. When those shapes are placed correctly, the face becomes recognizable with surprisingly few lines.

This approach works especially well with characters, since they are designed to be iconic from the start. By ignoring the person and focusing only on shapes, you can simplify the process and train your eye to spot what really matters.

Once this way of thinking clicks, capturing likeness becomes faster, clearer, and much more consistent ✏️🎨
