Diana Ross & The Supremes had been in a slump by mid-1968 when their singles failed to make it into the top 10. By September, it all changed when "Love Child" was released and became their biggest selling single up to that point. "How Long Has That Evening Train Been Gone" is a stellar track from their 1968 "Love Child" album that should have been considered as an A-side single. A top-notch track from a top-notch album!
