The latest report on Demographic transformation in the EU helps us understand these changes through evidence, providing insights that support better policymaking and help improve people's lives.
Demographic trends shape many of the decisions we make today, including on:
- Supporting people into the labour market.
- Investing in skills, innovation and talent.
- Childcare and long-term care.
- Housing.

The Joint Research Centre, in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE), has set up the European Consumer Food Waste Forum in order to address consumer food waste. Researchers and practitioners work together to find solutions and develop tools to help reduce consumer food waste. The EC Knowledge Centre for Bioeconomy coordinates the dissemination of the Forums activities.
