Lani Pettersen, MA, research administration and finance director in the UCSF Department of Neurology, has been recognized with the 2024 Chancellor Award for Exceptional University Management for applying innovative new methods and creative thinking to all her work at UCSF. Her contributions have made the Department of Neurology better, helping doctors and scientists focus on patient care and discovery.

With a background in the arts, Lani uses that creative experience and sensibility in reducing the administrative burden for faculty, staff and learners throughout the department. “I’m just incredibly grateful that I have this opportunity to be on this journey with UCSF,” she said.

The UCSF Founder’s Day Awards celebrate the outstanding service of faculty, staff and learners to the University and to our community in fulfillment of our mission of advancing health worldwide.
