I didn't know what the heck happened.
When I awoke, I never ended up wet when we were submerged in the river.
I look around and realize my outfit changed! I get up and look at myself in the golden mirror we both saw, and I resemble a court lady appointed by Queen Yukari.
I eventually see Maribel on the ground, now dressed in the same outfit from her reflection. Looks like I am right; Maribel is descended from Queen Yukari!
As she awakes, she ends up shocked to see herself dressed like her ancestor.
That said, I do remember how we were able to escape from Makai.
Via the giant mirror, is it possible for us to return to where we were?
I placed my index finger on the mirror, but it did nothing, leaving behind my fingerprint.
"Shucks, looks like we are trapped," Maribel remarked.
You may think the premise of the new Hifuu album would be based on the reincarnation isekai plot where a character reincarnates as a royal figure, but no. The two main characters ended up in the world you are seeing in the image by simply falling into a river in the middle of a storm. The first part of the album's story was based on an idea that a subscriber of this channel had. Unfortunately, I had to cut out all references to death after the storm to avoid triggering flashbacks of those affected by the Central Texas floods last month, which occurred in the weekend before the first track of the album released.
That said, I'm sure we're in the location that Maribel wanted to visit, despite transforming into historical figures.
