Garfield Lynns started out as a campy criminal with a belt full of bulbs, but by the '90s he'd been reimagined as a deeply scarred pyromaniac obsessed with destruction. The DCAU gave him a chilling twist too: a spurned obsessive whose twisted love turned lethal.
But 2004's The Batman took a different approach. This version of Firefly begins as a corporate saboteur, setting rival companies ablaze on behalf of the shady Gothcorp. But by the show’s end he was completely reimagined.
From sleek saboteur to super-powered nightmare, it’s a memorable reinvention that is fully in keeping with the character’s legacy of transformation.
