How do I get my speakers into SubAligner?
This depends on your level of patience. It takes some work up front, but then you'll save lots of time with alignments in the field. I'm happy to get on the phone to discuss any of this.
**High patience**
1. Sign up for a free account on trace-book.org
2. Open the Upload page and follow the instructions there. Make sure to follow the input calibration procedure so that SubAligner can estimate the proper level offset.
**Low patience**
1. Complete a ground-plane measurement at an appropriate distance that gives actionable data (usually 1-3m). Connect your audio interface directly to the amp or speaker. Remove anything that might cause extra latency or phase shift.
2. Document the DSP preset, distance from mic to grille/baffle, and any user definable settings like switches on the back of the speaker.
3. Send me the native measurement files and the documentation.
If you want to measure your entire inventory in the quickest way possible, I recommend that you set up outside on a calm day. Place your measurement microphones at a couple of different distances, representing the silver and gold distances and specified by Tracebook, depending on the number of mics you have. Then you can quickly move each speaker into the measurement position.
