LANSING, Ill. — Severe storms, a possible tornado, ripped through Lansing neighborhoods on Monday afternoon, July 27. Homes were damaged, garages flattened, and trees downed in the neighborhood known as Oakwood Estates. More than a dozen homes along 192nd Place and 192nd Street between Oakwood Ave and Wildwood Avenue were heavily damaged by the storms. No funnel clouds were reported, and the National Weather Service is not yet calling it a tornado, but the destruction is severe.
