After days of rain and sleet, Winston gets to spend time with Ralphie in Ralphie's paddock where he's finishing quarantine and is awaiting gelding.
Winston (champagne) was nine months old when he was saved from slaughter in June 2017. Ralphie was two-and-a-half when we saved him in December 2017. Both were wild, frightened, emaciated studs that had zero chance for survival in any world. No one wants a wild, frightened baby horse.
Today Winston is my little pocket pony on his way to being started under saddle, and Ralphie is slowly learning to trust humans before he goes under the knife.
Swingin' D Horse Rescue saves horses from the slaughter pipeline, nurses them back to health, evaluates and trains them, then adopts them to responsible owners. We survive off of donations and adoption fees.
