Finally made it to the UK! I took my wife and myself on a very-delayed honeymoon for a 9-day trip to all parts of England, a small piece of Wales, and eventually made it to Edinburgh, Scotland. Follow along to see what it these places are ACTUALLY like.
5th destination - White Cliffs of Dover. As an avid hiker and lover of peculiar places and locations, the White Cliffs of Dover have been a ever-growing, never-ending list of places to visit. So while touring England, this destination was definitely out of the way for us (since we were not going to the Channel to cross into France) but drove the two hours or so at night to the town of Dover, stayed in a really amazing hotel with great views of the ocean.
The next morning, we drove to the White Cliffs and learned a lot about these cliffs made of chalk! The walk and views of the cliffs was really amazing and after going to it now, it is WORTH the visit.
My wife Sarah, loved the location too and views too. These views are not something we have quite in America. We have oceans, of course, but not where there are steep cliffs going straight in.
Most are long beaches, so this was pretty unique.
