This is a POV walking route through two of Seoul’s most iconic royal palaces—Gyeongbokgung Palace and Deoksugung Palace.
I only had about 3 hours to explore both locations, so this was a more fast-paced visit—but I still tried to capture as much of each palace as possible along the way.
Even with limited time, visiting these palaces was absolutely worth it. Each one offers a unique look into Korea’s history, architecture, and layout, and they’re surprisingly different from each other despite being located in the same city.
📍 Route Overview
This route begins at Deoksugung Palace, known for its blend of traditional Korean architecture and Western-style buildings, along with its location right in the heart of the city.
From there, I made my way across central Seoul toward Gyeongbokgung Palace—the largest and most well-known of the five grand palaces. The walk between the two offers a glimpse of both modern Seoul and its historical roots.
Gyeongbokgung features large courtyards, detailed palace structures, and mountain backdrops, making it one of the most visually impressive locations in the city.
