Before I boarded a plane later this afternoon, the October 2023 Annular (Ring of Fire) Eclipse was happening in the Southwest of the USA. Unfortunately the timing was off for me with travel and was unable to travel more south, but, however, I noticed that 2 hours west of Salt Lake City was that the Annular path was going right through the Salt Flats!
With my wife in hand, and dog in in the backseat, we made the drive out to the Utah desert. A beautiful salty desert.
We arrived nick of time to see 98% coverage or so of the Annular eclipse, and the location was perfect!
