I had to retype this description because youtube dumb.
Originally I had taken GS2, but jerome had a run that did not lose the 1 second that I did. This run improves the previous WR by .5 seconds.
For the beginning, I decided to do the long jumps onto the yoshi. Ideally I would ground pound cancel to mount yoshi here, but I was having trouble with it today so I decided not to go for any. It wastes 3 frames to do it this way instead of the spin canceled long jump the old WR does.
I use bunny hops to the launch star now as it has been found to be about 1-2 frames faster for every 2 chained jumps.
The pepper flutter was a bit unoptimal and could save another .5s if done better.
For the ending, this jump is a 1 frame window. Right before jumping, I turn yoshi slightly more left of up and then transition to straining down left. I find this gets yoshi onto the platform above a bit faster. If you don't land fast enough, the slope becomes glitchy and you will bonk on it if you hold forward. Holding forward is necessary for the next speed trick.
When doing the final jump to the star, I had realized that I went more up left than I had wanted and decided only a sideflip would make it. The fastest way off this wall is actually to jump and flutter backwards because it gives a lot of speed for some reason. Sideflip is the second fastest. I probably lost about 1s here from the jump type and the slightly late jump.
I probably missed some original details I went over the first time, but youtube is dumb and won't let me see the old description because processing failed. Ty youtube.
