Hello everyone. First song I have written using a capo which added some different tones. It is funny, the original chords were first played much faster and the song was taking on a kind of political slant but things were not working out melodically. I ended up shifting the song into more of a passion play. In the end it is really about how we all take crap and stay in non affirming relationships that are detrimental to our journey through life whether a personal or business relationship. This is of course a demo and I was lucky to get the guitar track on the first take. Recorded with a mike near the sound port and one pointing down the neck from the head stock it encompasses two tracks but is only the one take. No punch ins required for this demo. The vocals were also as one take. With any new song I like to record it rough and see where the performance eventually goes. It always changes over time. I would very much like to record this properly with a string quartet. I think the classical nature of a cool orchestration (subtle even) would be a nice counterpoint to the dark nature of the lyrics. I dream of someone using this song whether performed by me or an actual artist for a movie. Hey a guy can dream can't he? Thanks for listening.
