Dedicated to the Circle (you know who you are!)
This little tribute project was something I had hanging in the wings for a while now, but then yesterday happened and the whole beautiful news about HTTYD2014 and thefanvideor's reconciliation inspired me beyond measure to celebrate it with a video that joys over truly living the love of God. I totally skipped my homework, my webnovel work (which I got to get going on), and abandoned Tumblr and everything Internet from 9am to 2pm (yup, skipped lunch, too). I hope you guys know how much I treasure your friendship and how much I am moved to see real character at work among you.
About the song choice: Yes! My first Christian song. I totally loved it for HTTYD, because of the first couple lines that made total sense for Hiccup. Thus, you'll see a sort of narrative that gets a bit bungled as the song moves onto bigger (and better!) things. I fully intended to make our little Viking teen a full-fledged Christian for this song, so I believe I got mostly away with the Christ figure dilemma (except for the sequence after 2:42, in which I had to resort to it, though honestly you can't deny he's a true Christ figure in the movie). Anyway, I seem pretty chatty right now for some reason. Maybe because I'm still on a high from that beautiful forgiveness of yesterday!
About the video: Since this one was for all of you, I conjured HTTYD2014's List of all you guys' favorite types of editing and -tried- to include something that everyone would like. So you'll see flashes, a couple color changes (not much, unfortunately), and an overlay (the fast clips kind of pushed out any spaces for a proper overlay). Lots of timing stuff, even a few lip-syncs, whew! I was gonna also do some voiceovers, but (darn it!) the audio seemed ridiculously low compared to the song, no matter how much I amped the dialogue. So I couldn't do anything, unfortunately. I'll have to figure out the VO-problem for the project I alluded to iVishu about, which supposed to feature VOs.
Premiere Pro was working hard on this one, the poor thing. Some parts I just could not preview before exporting. I think 1080p is a killer -- though always worth it.
Anyway, this is for you, my friends! It comes from my heart. May it touch yours as well, as you have touched mine!

Actually they are quite edifying, especially this line, in my opinion:
"The sun rises on His time,
Yet He knows our deepest desperate need."
He is in total control, yet He understands the longings of our hearts. We need to trust in Him to fulfill what we truly need for our well-being.
Also, I watched it on the YT page here, and there's some crazy whitewash thing going on in some clips. Maybe because I used the .mov file rather than an .mp4. Oh well.
And I also want to give a shout out to iVishu for inspiring 2:20-2:26 here in this video through the 2:12-2:17 section of his "Adored" video. :)

OKAY. So yesterday the trailer to Rogue One: a Star Wars story hit the Interwebs and I went and got all excited thinking our new heroine is Lukes wife and Reys mother, aka Mara Jade, rechristened Jyn Erso. She gave me all sorts of Katniss vibes too and then that whole question posed in the trailer— being captured, being broken, what will you become?? And all Im thinking is MARA.
Anyway. I AM SO EXCITE and I threw this together. It also doubles somewhat as a tribute to Mara/Luke, because that song is so perf for them.
Heres hoping Thrawn is the officer in white!
Cant wait for December!! Let the raging speculation begin!
