Here are my steps to learn how often your baby goes potty so you can offer at the correct times:
STEP 1: Set up a cozy, safe spot with a waterproof pad or towel.
STEP 2: Take off the diaper so baby can be free.
STEP 3: Sit nearby and just watch.
STEP 4: Wait to see what happens right before baby pees or poops.
STEP 5: Notice small signs like squirming, grunting, or getting quiet.
STEP 6: Say “psss” for pee or grunt for poop when it happens.
STEP 7: Do this for a couple of hours or over a few days.
STEP 8: Look for patterns. When does baby usually go?
STEP 9: Use what you learn to catch the next potty time!
