It's time to release the european ground squirrels into the wild. Before we release this years 24 baby squirrels, a visit to the vet is scheduled.
The European ground squirrel is one of Europe’s most endangered mammals. Together with Hluboka Zoo, we are working to re-establish the species in the western Czech Republic.
An important strive, but it is far from free. The vet, a microchip and a flight ticket - a total of $69 – per baby squirrel!
