This year’s larvae of the clouded Apollo butterfly have hatched! The clouded Apollo is a threatened species we breed at Nordens Ark to help strengthen wild populations.
When the larvae hatch, they are carefully sorted and placed on their host plant, corydalis, where they grow up in safe conditions.
Each bucket holds ten tiny larvae – carefully counted and cared for. Now it’s time for them to eat and grow before being released into the wild!
