The tunnel dipper HM-10A I found to be quite difficult mechanically to work on having the complete assembly manual which I copied off the internet helped a lot . I never worked on one of these while at Heathkit I was in the Amateur Radio department and the tunnel dipper was repaired in the test equipment department . The Tunnel dipper was developed at Heathkit in the late 60's I know I had one in 1968 that I used and liked it this one was purchased at a hamfest a few months ago
and was not working correctly when I bought it . My main concern when replacing parts was the fact that the tunnel diode is very difficult to find should a replacement be needed but the tunnel diode turned out to be ok .
