San Antonio, Texas - Meet Toby, ID A803232, at @ACSSan Antonio. He is a two year old American Staffy mix and he has been in the shelter for six days now. Sources tell us he is dealing with pain and trying to protect himself because right now he does not feel safe.

But that does not define him. We're told Toby is alert and aware. He needs time, patience, and understanding. He is not a bad dog. This is a dog who is hurting and trying to cope the only way he knows how.

Dogs like Toby need the right person. Someone who sees past the fear and gives him a chance. He will do best with someone experienced.
