My review of the very interesting 34th Republic serial Haunted Harbor. This serial blends nautical and jungle themes with a greater dramatic story jumping off point than is usual. A strong cast, plucky heroine and good atmosphere helps to keep the serial entertaining as it goes on for 15 chapters which is a bit too long.
The sea serpent monster supposedly threatening the hidden harbor is of course not so frightening when seen.
If you can overlook the amusingly cute sea monster this is a really entertaining serial. Most people only remember the goofy monster prop but this serial must hold the record for most objects broken in fights. EVERYTHING is destroyed in the room when a fight breaks out. And I mean everything!!!
Sadly, this unique and well above average serial is stuck on VHS with its only official release being this 1993 dual tape set.
