Hey everyone! November's Hat of The Month. I've been wanting to make this Gwen Stacy hat since I saw The Amazing Spiderman. When I saw this hat at the end of the movie I said "I'm going to make that hat", my family can verify that, haha. If you are a knitter and have seen The Amazing Spiderman I bet you wanted to make this too. If you haven't seen it, it's still a cool hat to make. I hope you guys enjoy this hat, sorry the video ended up so long, it was a very intricate hat, haha.

Items Used:
Clover Bamboo Interchangeable Circular needles, 16" cable, size 5 (3.75mm) & 6 (4mm)
Lion Brand Vanna's Choice yarn in Barley
Stitch Marker
Tapestry Needle
Boye Cable Needle

Instructions:
Using size 5 needle cast on 110 sts, join in the round placing a marker.
Ribbing: Work P1, K1 for 10 rounds. (15 round for slouchier hat)

Switch to size 6 needles
Set Up Row (right side): *P4, K6, P4, K8; rep from * around.

Pattern Rows:
Row 1: *P4, K6, P4, K5, K2tog, Yo, K1; rep from * around.
Row 2: *P4, K6, P4, K8; rep from * around.
Row 3: *P4, K6, P4, K4, K2tog, YO, K2; rep from * around.
Row 4: *P4, K6, P4, K8; rep from * around.
Row 5: *P4, C3B (sl next 3 sts on cable needle, hold back, K3 from left, K3 off cable), P4, K3, K2tog, YO, K3; rep from * around.
Row 6: *P4, K6, P4, K8; rep from * around.
Row 7: *P4, K6, P4, K2, K2tog, YO, K4; rep from * around.
Row 8: *P4, K6, P4, K8; rep from * around.
Row 9: *P4, K6, P4, K1, K2tog, YO, K2, B, K2; rep from * around.
Row 10: *P4, C3B (sl next 3 sts on cable needle, hold back, K3 from left, K3 off cable), P4, K8; rep from * around.
Row 11: *P4, K6, P4, K3, YO, SSK, K3; rep from * around.
Row 12: *P4, K6, P4, K8; rep from * around.
Row 13: *P4, K6, P4, K4, YO, SSK, K2; rep from * around.

Repeat Rows 3 through 18 once more.

Decreases:
Row 1: *P2tog twice, C3B (sl next 3 sts on cable needle, hold back, K3 from left, K3 off cable), P2tog twice, SSK, K2, K2tog, YO, K2; rep from * around.
Row 2: *P2, SSK, K2, K2tog, P2, SSK, K5; rep from * around.
Row 3: *P2, K4, P2, K1, K2tog, YO, K1, K2tog; rep from * around.
Row 4: *P2tog, SSK, K2tog, P2tog, K3, K2tog; rep from * around.
Row 5: *P1, K2, P1, K2tog, YO, K2; rep from * around.
Row 6: *P2tog twice, K2tog twice; rep from * around.
Row 7: *P2tog, K2tog; rep from * around.
10 sts should remain. Cut yarn, thread through remaining sts, pull tight.
Weave in ends and enjoy your hat!

Bobble:
K1, leaving st on left needle k through back loop, leaving on left needle k through front, rep until you have 5 sts

Pass the 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th sts over st 1 and off your right needle

Automatic Spool Knitter Buy This: http://www.amazon.com/Caron-20293-Embellish-Knit-Machine-Kit/dp/B003W0AUQ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407504384&sr=8-1&keywords=automatic+spool+knitter Instructions: First, hold the device so the words are facing you and the lever is on your right. Thread your yarn through the small hole on the left of the machine. Pull yarn up and lay in the groove on top rim. Insert yarn down the center and out the bottom of the device, and attach the weighted clamp to bottom of yarn. Make sure all latches are open, if not, use your tapestry needle to pull the latch down. Begin turning the crank away from you, following the arrow on the side right of device. Let your 1st latch catch your yarn. Continue rotating the lever, but this time pull yarn over 2nd latch, rotate catching the yarn on the 3rd latch and skipping the 4th. Now just rotate the lever until desired length is achieved. Tips: Work iCord on side of table or in lap, keeping the weighted clamp hoovering never laying on any surface. You want to you the weight to pull your iCord down the device and keep your stitches even. You can use most light weight and worsted weight yarns. Experiment with different ones and see which on you like best. Finishing: When youve reached your length, go ahead and cut your yarn from the yarn ball. Pull yarn up to the top of the device and rotate lever, without catching the yarn tail, until all stitches have been released from the latches. Now thread your tail on your tapestry needle and weave in your 4 live stitches and pull tight to close. Now youve made an iCord fast and easy. Enjoy embellishing your knitted projects.$

Do you guys love this stitch as much as I do? This is so unique looking. I came across this stitch while I was searching for crochet baby booties. It looked so cool, I had to find out what it was. I found it was called crocodile stitch for the fact that it looks like scales. I immediately went to figured out how to make this stitch and now I cant wait to use it.
