Do you guys love this stitch as much as I do? This is so unique looking. I came across this stitch while I was searching for crochet baby booties. It looked so cool, I had to find out what it was. I found it was called crocodile stitch for the fact that it looks like scales. I immediately went to figured out how to make this stitch and now I cant wait to use it. Items Mentioned: Lion Brand Plastic Crochet Hook size G-6 (4mm) Boye Aluminum Crochet Hook size D-3 (3.25mm) Caron Simply Soft Yarn in Country Blue and Lemonade Bernat Softee Baby Yarn in Mint Print This Pattern: http://yarn-muse.blogspot.com/2011/01/crocodile-stitch.html Instructions: Make slip knot. Ch multiples of 3. Row 1: dc in 3rd ch from hook, *ch 2, sk 2 ch, 2 dc in next ch; rep from * to end of ch. Ch 1, do not turn work around, just turn so its straight up and down. You will be working in between the 2 dc from previous row. Row 2: *5 dc in first dc, ch 1, rotate work clockwise, so second dc bar is on top, 5 dc in second dc, ch 1, rep from * in every other set of dc to end of work. Row 3: Ch 2, *2 dc in center of scale, ch 2, 2 dc in between scales; rep from * to end of work. Row 4: Skip first set of 2 dc, in second set of 2 dc, Ch 1, *5 dc in first dc, ch 1, rotate work clockwise, so second dc bar is on top, 5 dc in second dc, ch 1, rep from * in every other set of dc to end of work, sl st to top of ch 2. It is so easy to add bead embellishments to your knitted items, in this video I show you how to add them using a crochet hook. Items: Boye Thread Crochet Hook size 6 (1.6mm) Aluminum Needles size 6 (4mm) Caron Simply Soft Yarn in Chocolate Plastic Pony Beads (4mm) Instructions: Just work your stitches till you reach where you would like to add a bead. Place you bead on your crochet hook, take your hook and slip off your stitch from the left needle. Slide the bead down onto your stitch. Place your stitch back onto your left needle and work stitch like normal. Repeat for other beads. So simple and looks great!$
