Hey everyone! Do you guys love this stitch as much as I do? This is so unique looking. I came across this stitch while I was searching for crochet baby booties. It looked so cool, I had to find out what it was. I found it was called "crocodile stitch" for the fact that it looks like scales. I immediately went to figured out how to make this stitch and now I can't wait to use it. I hope this video helped you out and that you try it out.

Instructions:
Make slip knot. Ch multiples of 3.
Row 1: dc in 3rd ch from hook, *ch 2, sk 2 ch, 2 dc in next ch; rep from * to end of ch.
Ch 1, do not turn work around, just turn so it's straight up and down. You will be working in between the 2 dc from previous row.
Row 2: *5 dc in first dc, ch 1, rotate work clockwise, so second dc bar is on top, 5 dc in second dc, ch 1, rep from * in every other set of dc to end of work.
Row 3: Ch 2, *2 dc in center of scale, ch 2, 2 dc in between scales; rep from * to end of work.
Row 4: Skip first set of 2 dc, in second set of 2 dc, Ch 1, *5 dc in first dc, ch 1, rotate work clockwise, so second dc bar is on top, 5 dc in second dc, ch 1, rep from * in every other set of dc to end of work, sl st to top of ch 2.
Row 5: Ch 2, *2 dc in between scales, ch 2, 2 dc in center of scale; rep from * to end of work.

Repeat Rows 2 through 5 to form pattern.
