Welcome to Hogwarts' kitchen. Halloween and the Spooky season are fast approaching and I thought it was time to treat us all to a special little snack from my favourite fictional witch and wizard universe: The wizarding world of Harry Potter. Today we will be making pumpkin pasties just as they are enjoyed by Harry Potter, Ron Wesley, Hermionie Granger and all their friends and frenemies (anyone else crushing on Draco? Or Wood?), fresh from the trolly of the Hogwarts express. I decided to make a savoury and a sweet pumpkin pastry version and also give you a vegan alternative for these pumpkin pasties. The sweet version of these pumpkin pastries is inspired by a recipe in the unofficial Harry Potter cookbook - a big thank you to one of my lovely patreons, Wendy Kleeb, who so kindly gifted it to me. The savoury version is my personal magical creation in my capacity as a kitchen witch. Both are also perfect Halloween recipes and make excellent additions to any Halloween party buffet table.

Harry Potter Pumpkin Pasties recipe
Dough (enough for 7 sweet + 7 savoury pasties)
3 cups Flour
Some Salt
4 Tbs Sugar (leave out when making savoury pasties)
10 Tbs Very cold Butter (replace with vegan butter/margarine when cooking vegan)
10 Tbs Very cold Vegetable shortening
8-12 Tbs Ice water
Sweet stuffing
1 cup pumpkin puree
2 Tbs sugar
Cinnamon
Nutmeg
Cloves
Savoury stuffing
1 cup pumpkin puree
1 small onion
Some nuts
0.5 cup feta cheese
Salt & pepper
