Today I am sharing my favorite moist chocolate cardamom cake recipe with you.
And of course, I am throwing in a lot of tidbits on kitchen witchery because next to just being a delicious Valentine's dessert, this chocolate cake also serves as a lust spell... The ingredients used are natural aphrodisiacs and hold many magical correspondences for fertility, love, and lust.
We will also be chatting a bit about the pagan roots of Valentine's day and learn about the ancient pagan roman festival of Lupercalia - a wild party including much hanky-panky and fertility rites.
Here is the recipe for the cardamom chocolate cake
150 g dark chocolate
250 g soft butter
5 eggs
120 g sugar
2 tbsp flour
3 Tbsp cacao powder
1 Tsp baking powder
1 Tbsp cardamom pods
Dark chocolate ganache
100 g dark chocolate
100 ml heavy whipping cream
For topping
Strawberries
Mint or lemon balm
Physalis
Anything else you find pretty :)
