The witches cookery | Celebrate MABON with me | What to do for autumn equinox | WITCHY VLOG @Thewitchescookery | Uploaded September 2020 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Hi lovlies,

I wanted to take you along through my day of the autumnal equinox, on the pagan wheel of year also called Mabon, where we celebrate all this witchy / Wiccan holiday has to offer.
In this video, I will answer the questions around ´What is Mabon¨ - or, the witches thanksgiving, as some call it. I also want to give you some ideas on what to do for the autumn equinox, how to celebrate Mabon, and what messages and significance the autumnal equinox brings to us on a spiritual level. We will also discover what impact this pagan holiday has in my country. So what is on the agenda for this witchy vlog?
We will venture out in the morning to see the last sunrise of the summer. Now the sun will rise later in the day, so for me, it is the last chance to get out and watch it in peace and quiet, before the darker half of the year begins.
We will go for a beautiful autumn walk to enjoy the fall sun. And we will collect various little treasures, such as berries, flowers, and nuts to decorate the garden with. This is my personal Mabon gratitude ritual for the autumnal equinox. We will leave those as fae offerings, or as an offering to mother nature. This shows gratitude for all the blessings we were given throughout the year. Thanksgiving, blessings, gratitude, balance and are all important parts of this harvest festival and Wiccan sabbat.
We will then pick a ton of apples and bring them to the cider mill to get them juiced - so we can later transform them into apple wine and a magickal spiked apple cider.
And, with apple being the ultimate fruit of Mabon, we will also bake a delicious apple strudel (Apfelstrudel) together - so quick and easy, yet still mouthwatering yummy - with a flaky crust and sweet cinnamon and apple filling.
After all that work, we definitely deserve a little rest, so we will practice some kitchen witchery. We will create hot apple cider, with a very generous splash of brown rum - for the grown-ups. The ingredients used in this kitchen witch recipe are ideal for a variety of magickal intentions. Prosperity, Luck, success, love, lust, and fertility are just some of them.
And as a magical day nears its end, we will light a fire, roast some harvested veggies, and enjoy a blissful and cozy evening of this fall equinox.
