Today we are baking a medieval fair favourite: Flammkuchen - also known as Tarte Flambée or alsatian pizza. In former times this delicious snack was used as a meassure to see how hot the woodfire oven was, before putting the loafs in. Today it has experienced a revival as the French/German pizza. Let's get cooking!

Tarte Flambée / Flammkuchen recipe

Dough:
2 TBS oil
125 ml / 0.5 cup water
1 pinch of salt
250 g/ 1.5 cups flour

Topping:
2-3 onions
200 g / 3/4 cup diced bacon
200 ml / 3/4 cup heavy creme
200 ml / 3/4 cup sour creme
pepper, salt
