Children’s social care is a sector beset with very real challenges. Even under ideal circumstances, professionals are charged with ensuring that children are protected and allowed to flourish and thrive in the face of substantial adversity. Rising need, and higher expectations of what the system can deliver mean that social workers really must do more with less. These and other factors have led to a profession with a 15% turnover rate annually. In this session, academics and policymakers at the heart of these challenges discuss what is being done to tackle these challenges, and invite the audience to develop their own solutions.
