The last fifteen years have seen a revolution in the way applied economists have worked to generate evidence that can be of direct use to policy-makers, in developing and developed countries alike. In a session gathering people who have been at the forefront of this revolution in development economics, we discuss recent advances and attempts at further encouraging evidence-based policy-making, notably through the promotion of more 'nimble' evaluations.
