In this video, I show how to obtain the PP Packer from "Pack Man" using a method which is useful for new gen. After I obtain it, I reload the save and show that it's inside impound.
Yeah, I was glad at first to see this method in some Z-Type video on YouTube which randomly impounds your vehicles, just to discover later that it absolutely DOES NOT work for old gen (both 1.00 and patched). So this method became pretty much useless right after, only gave us some "abit faster" ways to get some new gen only stuff.
I have not much to say other than simply follow the video. For new gen, ANYTHING that you put into your safehouse, exit it, let garage door close and then enter vehicle again, will be impounded. So just do what is shown in the video and this truck will be in your impound. Damn easy, but yeah sadly works for new gen only. This would give us LOADS of new stuff for old gen, but forget it, I guess..
What is interesting, is the fact that Packer is the ONLY truck in V that can actually become impounded. So at least this truck is available early for new gen too.
You should use interior garage mode to take Packer out of impound. I tried the switch trick to get this out, but it was gone from Trevor's hands. So this way is not suggested and seems that you can take it out with garage mode only. Definitely do NOT leave it in impound as it can get discarded.
When you think it is extremely normal for Packer being on wheels inside impound, it is actually not. I suggest saving your game before even taking a look IF Packer is in impound, since there is a rare chance that it will then just fly out of the impound and vanish. In the video, I was quite lucky and got Packer on wheels real quick, but in reality it may take you 20+ times opening the impound, leaving, coming back, opening again etc. while hoping the vanishing incident doesn't happen.
Packer can spawn in two variants: extended roof and normal roof. This is purely cosmetic difference and it is up to you which one you prefer. Extended roof one can be seen in thumbnail, normal roof is seen here:
