The Grand Palace is the #1 attraction in Bangkok, Thailand, and probably in all of Thailand, with 8 million visitors a year. The Grand Palace was the royal residence for the Kings and Queens of Thailand from 1782-1925. Today, the palace is still used for official events and royal ceremonies. The Thai architecture is stunning. It is one of the most beautiful palaces I've ever visited.
You will see several highlights of the palace, but perhaps the most important highlight is the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), which holds the sacred Emerald Buddha, which only the King of Thailand is allowed to touch. No matter which building you are looking at, you will be in awe!
