I wanted to test my DIY screwfix FPV racing airgates with new foam lagging and black/white stripes to see how visible they are through goggles, also wanted to do a FPV Nano QX raw video from goggles, and test fly the nano qx outside with the upgraded mmw CL-0615-11 motors, so managed to combine all three this afternoon.
The cheap diy 'screwfix' airgates work superbly, see my other video for instructions, list of parts to make two airgates from screwfix bits for £25: (less if you have duct tape already)
FIVE Overflow Pipe 21.5mm x 3m White (68593) £1.49
ONE Tee 21.5mm Pack of 5 (14219) £2.99
ONE 135° (45°) Bend 21.5mm Pack of 5 (17345)£3.09
SIX Economy Pipe Insulation 22mm x 1m (91078) £0.89
ONE Duck Original Cloth Tape 50 Mesh White 50mm x 25m (92201) £3.29
ONE Duck Original Cloth Tape 50 Mesh Black 50mm x 25m (41045)£3.29
Total cost: £25.45 You will also need some string, a tape measure and a junior hacksaw, and about 15 minutes.
I'd suggest taking the tape measure and hacksaw with you to screwfix, so you can cut the poles down in the carpark and get them in car easily (don't ask how I know

Nano QX motor upgrade: youtube.com/watch?v=cROQ3QnJiEc
The goggle view is a direct recording from the 5.8Ghz receiver, so is exactly what I am seeing in goggles, I left the aspect ratio 4:3 to avoid distortion (previously I've stretched out to 16:9 for youtube), so hopefully for people thinking of getting into FPV this shows what you can expect to see when flying. Picture quality isn't amazing from the 10mw video transmitter in the VA1100 combined 5g camera/transmitter on the FPV nano, but its perfectly good enough for flying, and the buzz from FPV is well worth it, on larger quads most people have a separate HD recording camera, a mobius or gopro so after the flight you can replay high quality HD video footage from the memory card which is why most FPV video's you'll see look much better than this.
Ground cam is SJ4000 wifi, I'm not happy with the pixelation on high contrast FPV hoops, I need to check/play with settings, but certainly I'd get much better video from the gopro, shame as the rear screen makes it quick and easy to position, and I'm too cheap to get the Hero4 silver ;)
Hope this is useful, any questions please comment below.
