A couple of Hyperlapse tests.
These were taken with a point and shoot canon S120, first shot in carpark is on a monopod around a foot length movement each pic, second is handheld a step at a time - not much difference between them in smoothness, the smaller steps definitely work better and monopod was less tiring!
Camera on manual f8 1/20 iso200 with MF set and took around 60 pics for 2 second shots, I think shutter speed could be a bit slower to blur more on moving people etc so would drop iso next time, maybe use a 'proper' camera to drop aperture, but this seems to work pretty well for a quick test. To assemble I use Sony Home Movie Studio 12 (cheap Vegas), drag stills in 1 frame each, render out as first pass, then re-import, sony stabilise 0.3 and crop 16:9, then render out as second pass - final edit I re-stabilised 0.1 just to reduce jitter, I need to play with stabilise passes, as doesn't make much sense to me why two passes 0.3/0.1 should be better than one, so maybe two even passes at 0.15 will be better still.
I have wanted to do some hyperlapses for ages, so planning to do a few of these sometime, so nice to get a successful first test done.
