Thanks to Tom for organising great venue for round 9, wet grass caused everyone electronics issues but we sorted most out and got some great flying and racing in. Thanks to Rob and Bob for coming over, and regulars Tom and Phil.
My tally for the morning was 16 Race starts, 28 laps completed, 11 crashes, I broke 2 props, and an arm - everything else worked when it dried out.
Our intention was to show cheap/low spec quads are easy and fun to race, so people shouldn't be put off by the elite racers running high power setups with sponsorship backing, this can be a fun cheap hobby - our quads are generally 3S on 5x3 props, which for short course FPV racing is ideal, some ran 4S or 5x4 props, but hardly makes a difference due to the tight/low layout, intended to keep close fun racing with low impact speeds to minimise damage - other than dampness, we mostly only break props which are cheap and easy to swap.
Anyone interested in FPV racing you can make a very cheap course easily from pvc pipe from toolstation or screwfix, and some football marker dots from ebay for under £50 - get some friends together and get practicing. helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=687056
This is the last planned meet this year, as weather is going to cause more issues, but a few months off for the winter to strip rebuild/and recharge and see what next year brings.
For any insomnicacs, all flights are in two video's, one from my primary fpv250 which got wet on first lap so was out of action to dry out for a while second is my backup fpv260 which I need to dial in to fly how I like, as I'm not comfortable with it yet.
