A powerful but awkward skip to get through The Furnace elevator set piece fast. This might save around 2.5 minutes if done flawlessly, but that's easier said than done...
This skip relies on the obscure "hyper ledge magnetism"-side effect the game mysteriously grants Kratos at the end of Chapter 24. The general gist of hyper ledge magnetism is that by doing Poseidon Tremble (air) at certain locations at certain heights, Kratos will "zip" to grab a ledge above or below him.
Unfortunately, every time you want to practice or do this skip, you have to start playing from Chapter 24, and you have only one shot at doing this skip once you are in Chapter 25 - if you have to retry at any point, you will lose hyper ledge magnetism and it's all over.
This trick would have been much harder to test without Wulf2k9's tools, so kudos to him.
0:00 - this trick takes place right as Chapter 25 begins. The ledges of the shaft right above Kratos are magnetic, and the first step is to escape the room by using them.
Once you are on the roof, another magnetic ledge will take Kratos all the way to the mid-stop of the elevator ride. This ledge is a part of the X-shaped floor near where the grapple switch is. It's a somewhat wide and straight ledge that's not too difficult do latch onto, although unfortunately you do have to find it while the camera is not being particularly cooperative. If you miss it, you'll fall down outside the gate and must Shield Jump back inside using the background collision flaw if you want to have another go.
Finding a consistent setup for doing this might be slightly difficult. After Kratos grabs the first magnetic ledge, his angle usually varies a bit, which means that a continuation like roll into a sprint may or may not take you to the exact correct spot that you need to be in to do the second ledge zip. Visual cues may also be difficult to use since the camera is so bad. Still, in my testing I usually went with roll into sprint with a mild adjustment afterwards if I felt it was necessary.
To note, sometimes when arriving into Chapter 25, the mid-stop area takes a surprisingly long time to load. You cannot grab the magnetic ledge there until it has loaded, so be mindful of this. You can tell the area above has loaded if you can see tiny chests floating in air.
0:08 - now Kratos is outside bounds at the mid-stop. You can keep Kratos indefinitely at this height by continuing to magnetically latch onto the ledge. However, Kratos cannot hang here indefinitely and will fall down within seconds.
Kratos' air momentum is perfectly neutral after ledge magnetism and double jump is not available to reset air momentum, so it's not easy to get height after this point. Fortunately, by doing Poseidon Tremble (air) into Ice Rage at just the right time while L-stick forward, it's just barely possible to get on the mid-stop. The X-shaped floor is invisible at the moment, but still exists.
My tip for the correct timing is to do Ice Rage right after the height "peak" of Poseidon Tremble, when Kratos begins falling down. If you interrupt the move too early, it seems Kratos doesn't move forward during it, which of course prevents you from reaching the mid-stop.
0:11 - once Kratos has landed on the invisible floor of the mid-stop, you hit a new loading trigger which loads the top floor while also unloading the bottom floor. This is the point of no return - if you fall down, there isn't much else at the bottom other than the inactive elevator Kratos left behind. It's unlikely you could salvage this trick after this point if you fall down.
You have to run on a thin stretch of floor to reach the wheel to the right. There's a small floor on top of the "cover" of the wheel - normally it's not hard to get to with a double jump, but from this direction it's better to do a small Broken Destiny jump on top of it. There isn't much floor at the mid-stop since the elevator is not here, so falling down is a realistic possibility if you're not careful.
A double jump will get you all the way on some floor on top of the wheel.
0:17 - next invisible ledge is found near the background shaft. Unfortunately, there's a huge invisible wall blocking Kratos' path. You have to jump underneath the wall with a single jump into Shield air attack. After that point? I suppose multiple options are available, but one fast & dirty setup seems to be to just do a consecutive Shield Jump to get near the shaft, then Poseidon Tremble to zip all the way to the top of the elevator.
This is the most consistent setup I've found so far, but it's still only maybe 30% consistent. Your jumping angle matters a lot, as does your timing.
0:21 - once you're at the top, you have to carefully do a single jump into the shaft. If you don't jump far enough, you get caught on some weird collision that holds Kratos suspended in air forever.
Anyway, the game spends a few seconds loading, after which Kratos finds himself outdoors, ready to begin Chapter 26.
