After 27 years in Hollywood, Gnomon recently moved to a brand new state-of-the-art campus designed by our founder Alex Alvarez. Located in North Hollywood, CA, Gnomon's campus places students in the heart of the entertainment industry, surrounded by top film, game, and television studios. Our new campus preserves the essence of what makes Gnomon unique, with a myriad of enhanced amenities for students, staff, and faculty.
Gnomon's new facilities have been designed to create a production-like environment with an atmosphere conducive to creativity and learning. The 45,000 sq ft. facility houses twelve custom-built labs and lecture rooms, a reference library, sculpture and figure drawing studios, a 70 ft. green screen stage, a student store, the Gnomon Gallery, and more.
Gnomon is a degree-granting college and professional training institution specializing in education for the visual effects and game industries. It offers a variety of educational options, including certificate and degree programs, as well as over 100 individual courses. Admissions Advisors are available to provide customized campus tours and offer art mentorship throughout the application process.

Tune in to watch Gnomon instructors and filmmakers, Miguel Ortega and Tran Ma, work on their short film (The Threadlings)! The duo is back on the Gnomon Twitch and YouTube channels every Friday chronicling the creation of the film using Epics Unreal Engine 5. Each week, viewers will see real-time progress, insight into production notes, and are encouraged to interact with Miguel and Tran in the chat.
This new project comes on the heels of Miguel and Trans first film in partnership with Gnomon, The Voice in the Hollow. We are thrilled to give viewers the unique learning opportunity of seeing how a project is brought to life from beginning to end.
