"Gloxinia" is a really clean design megacollab that came out recently. It's got a bit more of a traditional design style than you typically see nowadays, which I'm a big fan of having seen the style develop over the years. This is especially evident in the structures themselves, as they aren't too detailed and the objects used are easy to identify. As a result, the level looks more "classic" Geometry Dash than levels that make things a lot more custom nowadays. Still, there are some new features mixed in here too, such as camera controls and shaders, but these are used very sparingly. The former can be seen around 0:35, with the camera zooming out and also freezing for a moment. As for shaders, the main example is at 0:58 to make the transition into the drop a bit more intense. I think the usage of these tools is nicely balanced to work well with the style, while also not bothering the gameplay too much. Difficulty-wise, this will most likely be a Hard Demon. Special thanks to NikVer, the verifier, for asking me to showcase this and giving the footage. The team behind this level consists of many creators I've never heard of before, but they all did a great job and I hope it will get rated soon.

This is one of the coolest 2.2 effect levels Ive seen thus far. It has a wide variety of effects mixed together really nicely, ranging from sick custom exit effects to some crazy textures in the structures. This is all synchronized to the song and with fitting transitions in between, making for great visual execution overall. It does play well for the most part, but I will say that 0:22 to 0:38 can be a bit tricky at first, exactly because of the custom exit effects covering such a wide area on the left. This can make it tough to read a pretty fast part at first. However, with a practice run, you adjust to it quickly and its fine to beat. The parts before and after this section are all very clear. All in all, I think that makes this level worthy of an Easy Demon rating.

Its been about a year since the last cometface level (formerly known as overdefo). They defined a part of 2.1 to me, more specifically towards the end, thanks to their iconic style. That is also present here in what is their first full 2.2 level. The designs themselves are relatively simple, but the structuring and decorations around it make it look good. One example of this, and my personal favorite part of the visuals, is the windows in each stage, in which you see clouds on a nice gradient between orange and blue. Stars that are really nicely animated pass through as well.
Outside of the nice and unique visuals, which is as expected from cometface for me, the gameplay is interesting too. You have to use some cool mechanics to get through the stages and reach the top. The most obvious one is the walljumping, which works surprisingly smoothly and gets consistent fast. There are also some fans that push you up, as well as areas that pull you in, for example around the orb at 0:33. All of these mechanics have good visual indicators, and learning them is quite fun. You also get a coin if you beat it in less than 70 seconds, which is a nice incentive for speed. All in all, I think this deserves 7 Moons and an Epic rating.

For those of you are newer to the game, you may have not seen any of this level before, or you may not even know who TamaN is. For old players like me, though, he is a very iconic creator who made simple but unique design levels with very fun gameplay, with Motion being the most famous one. In early 2.1, he posted previews of this, Terminal Velocity, on his channel. It looked very cool and fun, and I was excited for it to be finished. However, one day he suddenly quit and deleted the preview and all other videos on his channel. It seemed like the level may never come out. After he recently returned with a profile message, I was hopeful but not sure that he would finish it. Today, I was very happy to see it released and to get to play it for myself! This is something Ive been waiting for for over 5 years, which is definitely the longest Ive had to wait for a single user level.
The context above explains why some parts may look odd to you. Roughly the first minute or so of this level was previewed in 2017 to 2018, and they havent changed a whole lot. With this in mind, youd expect the level to look a lot more outdated, but I dont think it does. I said that it may look odd to you, and thats because TamaN does structures and decorations in a very unique way, especially compared to design creators today. A better term than odd, at least to me, is probably just unique. You can, for example, see how many of the new 2.1 objects he uses throughout this level, such as the rocks, signs, counters, and more. Normally I dont like these objects in levels at all, but they are used in clever ways with good composition and colors here, making it work in my opinion. The last few parts are most likely very recent, and they make for a great climax to the level while still fitting with the older parts of the level. I really like the extra movements, effects, and pulses.
Gameplay is what TamaN is probably most known for, and I cant see that changing after this. Terminal Velocity is very fun to play in my opinion. Like Motion, it has fast-paced gameplay that is really intuitive. This is particularly impressive considering how big the variety of game modes and gimmicks is. For example, we have pads put seen as little circles (0:39) and trigger orbs to pass through walls (1:26). The former may throw you off a little at first, but after that it feels smooth.
All in all, this will definitely get an Easy Demon rating. It certainly lived up to my expectations and went even a bit beyond in the final parts. I find it really cool how it kinda encapsulates 2.1 since some parts are made at the start of the update while others are made at the end. This is TamaNs big 2.1 level, and its definitely a worthy one to me personally. However, I can see why this may not be everyones cup of tea because of the unique visuals. I admit that my hype for this is somewhat fueled by nostalgia. Either way, I hope you give this a shot and find it enjoyable to play at least.
- COIN RATING -
Gold. 3/4. Its not too often I rate coins in recent times, mostly because many levels dont have them but also because many arent really worth writing extra for (due to bad quality). In this case, I felt an obligation to get them, and luckily they are quite good as well. The first and second couldve been a bit more interesting, and the third definitely stands out in that sense, but all of them add some difficulty and require a bit of searching.
• 1st coin: Silver. If you take the normal route, you can see an extra dash orb at the top at 0:10, which is a clue for the coin. Going back a couple seconds, you are able to do some well-timed jumps to get above the normal route and reach the coin. This is certainly a little harder than the normal route, and I like how the orb works as a clue to where its found.
• 2nd coin: Silver. At 0:41, there is a green circle above the normal route with a question mark on it. Getting this enables the structure with a blue pad on it seen at 0:44 in the video. Skipping most of the orbs in the normal route takes you to it, which brings you below the normal route. Doing a precise jump to reach the orbs, skipping the blue orb, and hitting the green orb rewards you with the coin.
• 3rd coin: Viprin Certified. This coin overlaps with the second, which confused me when trying to find it. The coin is obviously at 0:46, a few seconds later, but how to remove the P spike was the real question. Going back to 0:38, there is a spike with a subtle P on it, and jumping through it unlocks the coin. At 0:46 you click to move the player colored block toward the coin. This is basically a minigame inside of a design level to get the coin, which is very unique and not something Ive seen before. As such, it gets a Viprin Certified rating.

This is another entry to Waboos contest that Rage Quit was made for, meaning that its also a remake of Stereo Madness. That is probably even harder to tell in this case, compared to blis level, as none of the parts show the original look. Its an entirely custom art level, with a kind of Wild West theme to it, which is a really interesting direction. This is the case until a simulated crash at 0:43, after which it gets snowy. These two parts make for an interesting combination, all while fitting relatively well together due to similar rock structures, cloudy skies, and LifeCheck0s general style. In each of the sections, you go up against a bossfight, first some bandits in a car and then a helicopter, both of which shoot rockets at you.
With all of the aforementioned visuals in mind, its no surprise this ended up being rated 6 Stars (5 higher than Stereo Madness and 4 higher than Rage Quit). Theres just so much detail and a lot going on, especially at the bossfights, for it to be rated lower. Im sure a lot of people arent able to tell that the gameplay is from the first level either. Thats not a problem overall, though, but more of a side effect of giving the original such a big overhaul. It has already been rated Epic, which I think works well. There are a few points that leave some things to be desired, such as the audio transitions at 0:33 and 0:56. Additionally, at 1:25 there is text saying, No coin (yet), giving the impression of it being released unfinished. They only had about 1 month to build this, so that makes sense. All in all, this is still a really cool remake, and Im excited to see what LifeCheck0 does in the future. If he doesnt have to follow an object or time limit, Im sure he can make something even better!
*COIN RATING*
Bronze. 1/4. Only one of the coins from the original remain, and its completely unchanged. That makes it completely unoriginal, all while being basically free, so it gets a Bronze rating.
- 1st Coin: Bronze. At 1:12, you come up on the same structuring for the 2nd coin of Stereo Madness. Even if you dont recognize that this is a remake of that level, the gameplay is so slow here that you can sightread and jump up for the coin, making it completely free. All it requires is one extra jump with no special timing. It doesnt do anything different visually either. I understand that LifeCheck0 wanted to keep the original coin here, but that doesnt mean we will go easy on the coin rating. Its still too easy to find and get with no originality as its copied from another level.
