South Metro Fire Rescue Academy recruits of Class 25-2 recently lost their Pride Axe to the crew of Station 12—a tradition that symbolizes pride, commitment, and attention to detail.
To earn it back, the members of Station 12 challenged the recruits to perform community service. The recruits chose to spend their time helping at the Edwards Foundation for Rescued Animals in Parker, CO.
For these recruits, it wasn’t just about reclaiming the Pride Axe—it was about giving back to the community they’ll soon serve as firefighters.
