In "Girlboss", poet, critic, and novelist Alex Sheremet delivers an ario about Andrew Tate's possible life motivations. Did he feel resentment over his father, Emory Tate, an accomplished chess master who was an unfaithful spouse and absentee parent? Did his mother's own struggles fuel a desire to acquire money by any means possible – including sexual exploitation? Finally, why is Andrew Tate, who pushes masculinity and healthy role models for young men, so emotional and antithetical to his own preaching?
In 2022, Andrew Tate, his brother Tristan Tate, and two women were arrested in Romania for alleged sex trafficking and running a criminal enterprise. One of the arrested women is a Romanian police officer. According to Reuters, "Prosecutors have said the Tate brothers recruited their victims by seducing them and falsely claiming to want a relationship or marriage. The victims were then taken to properties on the outskirts of the capital Bucharest and through physical violence and mental intimidation were sexually exploited by being forced to produce pornographic content for social media sites that generated large financial gain, prosecutors said."
In Andrew Tate’s words, he moved to Romania for its laxer legal climate.
A note on the ario poetic form: Bruce Ario (1955 – 2022) was a Minneapolis poet who created the “ario” poetic form, a 10-line poem with 3 stanzas of 3 lines each, concluding with a final line that inverts that which preceded it.

Girlboss
* for Andrew Tate
So the boy only wants to see his daddy
Dead. It would mean so much
To chuff him through Mauthausen
By the throat. He finds young ones
More easily commanded
Than emotion. Too slow to pull out
Of pictures where every woman is the same
As any man who hides himself
In pillows, he fears to shrivel up unnoticed
Like a clit. Was Mom at fault? What was she?

![Oleg Gazmanov – Squadron (1989, English Subtitles) |
Oleg Gazmanov (Олег Газманов) is a Russian singer-songwriter who has recently found himself in trouble for being a regime propagandist after the Russia/Ukraine War. Long before he was a Russian nationalist, he was a proud Soviet Communist, changing his ideology according to his personal needs. This typically doesnt make for good art, yet he managed to write one of the greatest pop songs ever Squadron (Эксадрон), which captured the ironic listlessness (and hopelessness) of Russias 1980s and 1990s.

English Translation:
SQUADRON
Squadron of my wild thoughts
No bars for it, no obstacles
I cant restrain the dashing horses
Let them fly, let them fly!
My thoughts, my galloping horses
There is no need to spur you
You rush, carried by your own gait
And dont recognize the reins
My thoughts, my galloping horses
Like sparks will ignite this night
Outrunning the madness of drunken winds
Squadron of my wild thoughts
And no one can restrain me
And my thoughts will whisk me
Into the distance
Maybe I wont ever return
How unfortunate...
Oh, my stray, fleeting thoughts
You are carried away like the years
From sunrise to sunset, from sunset and across
My thoughts, my galloping horses
There is no need to spur you
You rush, carried by your own gait
And dont recognize the reins
My thoughts, my galloping horses
Like sparks will ignite this night
Outrunning the madness of drunken winds
Squadron of my wild thoughts
Outrunning the madness of drunken winds
