Here is another 'drums only' excerpt of the recording I did for the recent iGenesis Stagnation video. These 'jouxplan' excerpts allow you to hear and see the detail of the drum parts, which was a little hard to hear in the final iGenesis mix - hope you enjoy!
This excerpt is taken from the final section of Stagnation. We decided to go for a Chester Thompson feel here - which was interesting, given that it is Phil Collins on the actual live recording :-) Hopefully you can tell this is more like Chester than Phil, or else I did not do it right!! The finale tom and crash accents are however as Phil did it. Cyrus had to create a special composite MP3 for me to learn and record to!
That final floor tom roll was a beast to get timed right - I don't know how I ended it in the right place, with the bass drum as well - I kind of 'felt' it, and hell, it was not easy :-)
I'll post one other drum excerpt from the Stagnation recording next week.
