Anyway, this was supposed to be my interpretation of this epic, epic live track featuring Phil Colins and Bill Bruford. Unfortunately, I did not really catch what I usually do on this cover, on camera, last weekend. Hence a new (overhead) cover, which I posted this weekend......
This one is by no means accurate, and there are too many errors and 'ad libs' for my liking, but last week I felt compelled to get on and post something before you all got bored or decided I had died or something.
I had lots of problems with sound levels. Sorry. Thankfully, the overhead version allows you to actually hear the background music.
Anyway, I hope you get the gist of what I was trying to achieve. There are a number of key fills that I cock-up and / or miss out altogether in this take - very frustrating for me, and no doubt annoying for the pedant's among you. See the new overhead version, for a technically much better attempt.
For the record, my drum room was at like 30 degrees Centigrade, and frankly, it was unbearably hot!
Still, if nothing else, this video represents a watershed in terms of how many faces can be pulled by one drummer during a fast and furious technical track, in boiling conditions. I reckon this video wins hands down in the 'who can pull the most stupid faces' competition.
If nothing else, the facials and commentary at the end should amuse you!
